Not to long ago I had the pleasure to do a 40th birthday party for a gentlemen. As I have told you
before, I always meet with my clients to ask them if they have a special theme in mind. I talked with his
wife, and asked if he had any special hobbies or sports that he liked. I found out he is a big New York Yankees
fan. So we decided to create a theme around that idea. Planning an adult baseball theme party took a little
imagination. So lets step up to the plate and get started!
Invitations
You can shop the dollar store or your local party store to pickup baseball themed invitations. Or
perhaps, you can let your fingers do the walking and send invitations via email. Doing it this way
is easy on the budget, and they can be modified to contain the pictures and designs to create a
more personalized theme.
Decorations.
I created a large box and made separations in it for popcorn and beer . I attached a strap and
had my server come out saying ” Popcorn and Beer ” The guests couldn’t believe it they were
in awe..( If you want to surprise your guests this is a great idea! ) I went to my printer, and had
him make me baseball bases with the famous New York Yankees past and present players.
We scattered them around the party area. I visited my local florist, and had them create
a arrangement with grass and a baseball it looked fantastic ! I also took a large glass vase
painted it gold and added handles to it. I placed gold fish inside at the party. At the
end of the event everyone was fighting over who was taking the fish home. I took astro
turff and placed in on the bar table to create the illusion of grass. Oh I almost forgot,
we also scattered baseball cards on all the guest tables which I purchased at the
at the dollar store.
Food
When your thinking baseball food hamburgers ,hot dogs, potato salad and coleslaw are in order
For this type of event you might even want to set up a hot dog bar with all the different toppings.
Drinks might include beer and some sodas. An ice cream cart and a baseball diamond cake
are some great dessert ideas also.
Baseball is a great American past time. Add some team spirit and have a few friends help you. Together
you can create a home run !
